Montreal-based guitarist, trumpet player, and composer Bernie Épaud creates immersive, boundary-pushing jazz that blends improvisation, acoustic warmth, and electronic textures. His music unfolds as rich soundscapes, where nuanced rhythms and expressive melodies meet innovative sonic exploration. Bernard has performed across Canada and internationally, collaborating with diverse artists and ensembles, continually redefining the possibilities of contemporary jazz. His current project, Nuances, explores contrasts of darkness and light, intimacy and expansiveness. Building on this, his upcoming album, Au tour de la nuit, presents a quintet with piano, bass, drums, and DJ/electronics, merging traditional jazz with modern textures and improvisational dialogue, creating a fresh and electrifying live experience.
